Sevierville has approved some new additions to town. The first being Waffle House! Stop by the new location on Winfield Dunn Parkway, but don't go just yet, the building was just approved at the beginning of January 2013! Second is a parking lot facing Bruce Street between Court Avenue and Parkway. It will be ready by May in order to house the Bloomin' Barbeque and Bluegrass festival!
Head on over to Dollywood this summer and stay even longer! With its Great American Summer, Dollywood will stay open from 10am till 10pm starting June 22nd until August 4th. Stop by DP's Celebrity Theatre to catch today's most popular country music live, starting May 10th until October 26th. Finally, end each day will with Dolly's Nights of Many Colors that will great a dazaling display of fireworks.
A new alpine coaster is coming to Wears Valley Road. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster will use individual cars to slide down the mountain on a smaller track than traditional coasters. The coaster will be about a mile long with a 300 foot drop with a speed of up to 25 miles per hour!
LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge is scheduled for a September 2013 opening. It's going to be a 232,000 square-foot multi-purpose facility including a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, multi-purpose rooms, a multi-purpose hall, spacious lobbies, a dedicated registration space, food and beverage facilities, trolley service and 1,600 parking spaces. This will be the perfect place for your next big event in Pigeon Forge!
New! Exhibit about Children of the Titanic - The RMS Titanic sailed with 2,208 people on board – 133 of them were children. This is opening day of a year-long, exclusive exhibit. The Hollywood Wax Museum that was on the parkway in Gatlinburg has closed this past year. The NEW Hollywood Wax Museum is now open in Pigeon Forge in the former building where the Dinosaur Walk Museum was located. This upgrade for the Hollywood Wax Museum is huge. This is a $15 million investment and expansion into a three story building with 30,000 square feet.
