Alpine Bank Trail Series Returns for 2nd Year

The Alpine Bank Trails Series, featuring runs, hikes, and walks for all athletic ability levels on four prominent trail systems in Durango, returns for a second year courtesy of co-hosts City of Durango Parks and Recreation Department, Habitat for Humanity and Southwest Conservation Corps. Profits from the series will equally benefit all three organizations.
The Mountain Park Classic, traverses through the Mountain Park on June 30 and boast a challenging four and seven mile course. The third race of the series, The Habitat Hill Climb, is a new addition to the Trail Series and introduces a one-mile and one-third-mile mountain time trail located at the Smelter Mountain Trailhead. The series concludes with the hearty 6.6-mile Animas Mountain Mug Run on September 23. All events include a one-mile course to run or hike.

The Alpine Bank Trail Series encourages participation from casual walkers and serious runners alike. Participants may run, hike or walk any course. Interested individuals may participate in one or more of the races, without competing in the Series.
All participants who pre-register for the Series will receive a Trail Series dri-fit runner’s shirt from Alpine Bank. Alpine Bank will also provide each participant with a unique race-day souvenir.
Register for the entire Alpine Bank Trails Series or for individual races at the Durango Community Recreation Center. For additional information, contact Heidi Schaiberger at (970)-375-7306.
