MagiQuest

MagiQuest, a live-action interactive game that has carved a new niche and strong brand following in family entertainment, today announced the opening of its newest location in Pigeon Forge, TN, proving that quality family entertainment is still thriving amid a weak economy.

Like stepping into a real-life video game, the adventure begins when you enter the castle. Players, known as Magi, buy and adorn a magic wand that triggers over 150 special effects and remembers everything you do forever. Magi use clues, riddles and hints to progress through the game, earn points and power, and encounter unique worlds. Whether battling a dragon or searching for the Princesses’ jewels, there are many choices of quests and adventures to play. When guests return, they pick up where they left off. New quests, characters and adventures are added each year so the game never ends and your wand works at any MagiQuest location.

The familiarity with the game is another indication that MagiQuest is gaining ground as an established brand, something that creators are quick to point out they were confident would happen. “We get hundreds of emails daily asking us to open a location somewhere near them or launch a game online so they can continue their journey” said Weston. “I tell them we will - and we’ll do it in a way no one else has so that everyone can enjoy MagiQuest,” hinting to an announcement that may be forthcoming soon about the next phase of the company’s expansion plans. This location operates daily year round.

New Shows for 2010

New shows have arrived this year. Don’t miss “Can’t Stop the Beat” at Memories Theater, or some of their all-new “Rock & Roll” shows that will take you back in time to the 50’s & 60’s.  T. G. Sheppard is back performing in our area at the Smith Family Dinner show. He will  be performing all his #1 hits in a concert series throughout the year. Another great show will be at the Miracle Theater known as “Exalt” - This show highlights favorite Christian music from the 70s, 80s and 90s and today’s Worship Music!

Titanic Pigeon Forge

The World's largest museum attraction will soon be opening in Pigeon Forge. Titanic Pigeon Forge will be a 30,000 square-foot ship-shaped structure that will display hundreds of priceless Titanic artifacts, as well as exact replicas of the “Grand Staircase,” a first-class suite, third-class cabin and the Marconi wireless room. There will also be interactive features where guests can do such things as, touch an iceberg, xperience the chill of 28 degree water, and sit in an actual life boat.

Sha-Kon-O-Hey!

Sha-Kon-O-Hey! captures the spirit of the Smoky Mountains and the rich heritage of the people who call them home.  This 45-minute show premiered on May 9, 2009, in DP’s Celebrity Theatre and incorporates scenic elements and stage effects never before seen at Dollywood.  Sha-Kon-O-Hey! takes audiences back to a time of great change in the Smoky Mountains in 1930s.  In a musical journey guided by eight new songs written by Dolly, a wizened storyteller guides a reluctant family as they bid farewell to the area that eventually becomes Great Smoky Mountains National Park . . . yet remains a place that lives forever in their hearts.  Along the way, audiences meet the folks who inhabited this great land—the settlers, the rail and lumbermen, the Native Americans and the shiners.

Upcoming Attractions

Dumplin Creek, a 190-acre soon-to-be shopping center, will include 800,000 square feet of retail space, and 400,000 square feet of entertainment space, including a movie theater and department stores. With construction hopefully starting in 2009, Dumplin Creek is on a five to six year timeline, before becoming fully operational.

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies will be opening a new exhibit in the Spring of 2010.  Ripley's is working hard to keep the new exhibit a secret and they're doing a great job! No one has clue yet as to what it will be.  We can only expect it will be even cooler than the last killer exhibit, "Lethal Weapons."  Keep checking back for updates, and to see what exciting exhibit Ripley's is bringing to Gatlinburg!
