Christmas in Pigeon Forge is an interesting experience for those who might be familiar with Pigeon Forge from summer vacations. During the busy summer season, the Parkway is bustling with vacationers and filled with all kinds of cars, from family cars loaded with souvenirs to souped-up imports, classics, to even the latest models with gleaming paint and shining rims. Even in Winter, visitors fill the Parkway to the brim as they tour the Pigeon Forge Winterfest lights. But Christmas in Pigeon Forge shares that special quiet serenity that Christmas brings.
I remember a Christmastime trip to my Grandmother’s house in New Castle, Pennsylvania, when she was excited about showing us the neighborhood lights. They were beautiful, but nothing compares to the lights in Pigeon Forge. My mother told my grandmother if she likes the lights where she lives, “wait till you see the lights in MY neighborhood.” It's always fun to take our relatives on tours of the Winterfest lights when they visit us in winter.
