Smoky Mountain Hikes
The Smoky Mountain Hiking Club invites all visitors to participate in group hiking outings! The mountains are full of peace and rejuvenation. Take some time out of your busy pre-holiday schedule and soak up the calm and beauty of the Smoky Mountain scenery. Below are two upcoming hike options. December 16: Trek a moderately rated 5-mile
hike up House Mountain with members and guests of the Smoky Mountain Hiking Club. The House Mountain State Natural Area contains the highest elevation in all of Knox County, and with the leaves fallen, the views are far-reaching. Meet at 9 a.m. at House Mountain. Take I-40 to exit 393; travel north and east on US 11W for 10 miles; follow the House Mountain sign to the right. Call leaders Janet (865-675-3822) and Dan (865-673-5822) for further trip details.
December 20: Leader Steve (865-689-5006) of the
Smoky Mountain Hiking Club invites all to join him on a Wednesday
hike on the Little Greenbrier trail. Estimated distance is six miles.
