Great Gatlinburg Shark Race

How much is one little rubber shark worth? Well, it could be worth ten grand if it's one of the winning sharks in the Great Gatlinburg Shark Race in Gatlinburg this year.

September 29, 2007 is the date for the Great Gatlinburg Shark Race for the United Way of Sevier County. The grand prize this year is $10k in cash. Other great prizes include a 2007 ATV, $2,000 furniture shopping spree, pool table, stay in Orlando and four passes to Disney, iPod Nano package or VIP attractions packages for Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.

Festivities start at Ripley's Place in Gatlinburg (next to the Aquarium) with live entertainment, food, and the opportunity to win prizes. Numbered rubber ducks are released into the Little Pigeon River, and the first one to cross the finish line is the grand prize winner.

Tickets are only $10.00 each to win one of these fabolous prizes. All of the money raised from this event goes to the 28 community partner agencies of the United Way in Sevier County. Last year's shark race event raised over $60k for United Way. You do not have to be present to win.
