The end of the year is fast approaching and the holiday season is upon us. It is incredibly easy this time of the year to get sucked into the holiday dinners and buffet lines to enjoy some amazing winter delicacies. However, we challenge you to start your New Year’s resolution early, and join us for some amazing runs in the Pigeon Forge area this holiday season.
These runs are not only a great way to stay in shape, but they also support some amazing, note worthy causes. All of these runs and, of course, some of the other amazing attractions in Pigeon Forge, are a great reason to come and spend some time in The Great Smoky Mountains.
1. Stars & Strides Red, White & Blue 5K Vibe Glow Run
Veterans Day is fast approaching. One way you can show your support for the loyalty and dedication of our troops is to come out to the Stars and Strides 5K glow run. This run is located in Pigeon Forge and brings fun for the whole family, including black lights, face paint contests and tunnels to make the most exciting run possible. Stay in shape and support the troops this Veterans Day weekend with this awesome run. November 7th will be here before you know it!
2. Light the Way 5K
Meet us at one of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg’s oldest and most loved attractions! Dollywood will be hosting this year’s Light the Way 5K event. This run is perfect for the holiday season, lighting your path with over 4 million lights decorating the town.
Better yet? Both runners and walkers are welcome. The more the merrier! The goal of this run is to have fun and support two amazing charities, Keep Sevier Beautiful and Share it Forward. So come on out on the weekend of November 13 to experience Dollywood, the Light the Way 5K and all the other attractions that Pigeon Forge has to offer. And remember, the trolly rides and light displays will be ready by then too!
3. Santa Hustle Half Marathon and 5K
With Christmas right around the corner, show your Santa spirit by participating in the Santa Hustle Half Marathon and 5K. This festive run takes place during the weekend of December 13 and is an early morning run, beginning at 7:30 a.m. All participants will receive a Santa hat, beard and Dri-Fit half-zip to wear while running. This is a large, outrageous holiday celebration complete with music, decorations and an after party. Hop in your sleigh and head down to the Santa 5K and make a fun, healthy choice this holiday season. There really is no better way to enjoy the magic of Winterfest!
