Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo

What a great place to take your kids! And adults will enjoy it too. It's bigger than I imagined and it's mostly indoors, so don't let the weather keep you from visiting. It is clean, well laid out, and very professional. You can tell they take great care of their animals. Inside there's hundreds of exhibits from lizards, snakes-BIG and small, poisonous frogs, exotic birds, monkeys, sloths, porcupines, etc...Go outside and feed the llamas, emus, and goats! We went in the winger time so the otters weren't there (outside exhibit). Be sure to buy a few bags of feed for the goats, emus, and llamas. They had feeding times for the guineas which my grandson loved. There is also a large gift shop for souvenirs and snacks. We spent a couple hours and the time flew by.

My husband surprised me with the sloth encounter that this small zoo offers. Yes, the zoo is a small indoor zoo with a few outdoor animals that you can feed. The sloth encounter is an extra cost but so worth it. The keepers, Mich and Faith were very knowledgeable about sloths in general and were absolutely wonderful. There were just 4 of us during the encounter and we were able to feed and pet them. You can absolutely tell these young ladies love their job and take great pride in caring for these animals. They answered all of our questions and what was supposed to be a 20 minute encounter was well over an hour. We never felt rushed, and would absolutely recommend this experience.
