The Townsend Abbey is proud to showcase local craft beer in a unique setting. We pride ourselves on our offerings of the finest local brewers, paired with tasty bites. Watch your favorite sports event with us, or just sit by the river and take it all in!

The Abbey is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon, eating lunch by the river and drinking your favorite brew, whether it be craft beer, cider, sweet iced tea or a soft drink. Our family friendly atmosphere brings a smile to all ages. Join a friend in corn hole or Connect Four. Escape the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge (25 minutes away) or Gatlinburg (25 minutes also). Visit Cades Cove or ride your bike along our 6 mile Townsend Bike Path and rest with us!

We also have shareables for you to snack on and a sandwich, salad or flatbread should you have a larger appetite. Specials each weekend for music night are to promote speedy service so you can better enjoy your time with us!

Our BBQ brisket tater tot nachos (plenty for 2 or 3 people to share) and Buffalo Chicken tacos were just what we needed after a long day in the Smoky Mountain National Park!

The Orange & Vanilla Cider was quite tasty and very refreshing! The English Pub Ale is a favorite now!

The best part though was sitting outside next to the river. There’s just something soothing about listening to the water pass by and drinking a locally made beverage.

We highly recommend The Abbey 10/10!!!

We attended the Smoky Mountain AD Nationals and had attended the Abbey on several occasions during the event... We were extremely happy with the FOOD, PEOPLE, and ATMOSPHERE that they provided us with!!!! Honestly there were/are serious thoughts of relocating to this beautiful area.... If you have any chance of coming to Townsend PLEASE stop by here!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!!! Thank you for out unforgettable experience!!!!!

This place incredible, if you've stumbled upon it, stumble on in and enjoy yourself!

This was the top recommendation on Reddit, so of course we had to go on the way back from Cades Cove (plus the route back through Townsend is way better). The place is just absolutely awesome.

Order at the counter, drinks are cheap, people are cool. We got the brisket sandwich and the pork sliders, both were probably the best I've ever had. Make sure you upgrade to tots for the extra dollar! Everything is BIG so be ready for that (e.g. pork sliders sound small, but it's two pork sandwiches, don't imagine those little tiny things most people give you).

Seriously this place made my day, just a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food, we high-fived all the way home.
