A girl's getaway was just the what my daughter and I needed before she headed back to school for a new year. And not just any school year but middle school. We carved out a little bit of time so we packed up our bags, grabbed our best friends and headed to Camp Margaritaville RV Resort & Lodge in Pigeon Forge. There is just something special about getting away with your kids and setting the time aside to be present and play. And play we did!
Camping in Luxury
In all honesty, we like the idea of camping, but we also love a big, beautiful resort with all the luxuries of home. Thankfully, Camp Margaritaville has both! We stayed in a deluxe room with the kid's tent area. It was the perfect space for us and had all the amenities we wanted - cozy beds, spacious walk in shower, coffee bar and a microwave and mini fridge. The girls quickly called dibs on their beds in the tent.

A Lazy River of Fun
Our first stop was the activities lawn with the yard games, fire pit and lazy river. The lazy river was a hit with the girls - and the moms. We all grabbed some floats, the moms ordered a drink from the poolside bar and we hopped in. We bobbed and floated, drank and laughed. If hunger strikes, the poolside Sun Baked BBQ Hut serves up some delicious smoked BBQ and shareable plates. Try the chicken wings!

Poolside Service
After our lazy river float, we headed up to the other pool. There is also a zero entry resort pool with a double loop water slide, kid's zone and hot tub. We were are all looking for a snack so we ordered some pulled pork nachos, fries and of course one of their specialty margaritas and nonalcoholic frozen treats for the girls. There is a full bar and menu at Fins Bar and Chill and the full-service poolside service was perfect.

Fins Bar & Chill
Dinner was hit. There was something on the menu for all our discriminating eaters. We wanted to be close to all the action so we ate downstairs in the Fin City Entrainment Center. The entire lower level of Camp Margaritaville it's a year-round, entertainment center. There is a huge arcade, pool tables, dartboard, foosball table, and shuffleboard. There is even duck pin bowling. Outside on the activities lawn, guests were enjoying the fir pit, yard games and ping pong table. This place was so fun! We spent the rest of the evening running around playing.

Breakfast of Champions
You know what moms love? When someone else makes breakfast for them. Especially a full, hot breakfast. This breakfast buffet has it all including eggs, bacon and pancake and french toast bar. There were also breads and pastries and our girls' favorite: a donut tree. This all you can eat buffet also included healthier fare like fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals.
Dining at Camp Margaritaville
Pup Friendly Paradise
Camp Margaritaville Lodge is a pup friendly paradise. The resort welcomes our furry friends with the amenities to keep them happy and healthy. Most impressive was the Bark-aritiville dog menu featuring items like Chow Hound Chicken and The Rin Tin Tin. These room service menu items come served in their very own designed petware. There is plenty of room for your dog to run and play with fellow furry campers at the Bark-aritaville pet park.
