Celebrate America's 250th anniversary during a special Independence Day weekend event at The Island in Pigeon Forge from July 3-5, 2026. The three-day celebration will feature patriotic entertainment, themed light and fountain shows, live music, family activities, and photo opportunities. Admission and parking are free.

A highlight of this year's celebration is the debut of Freedom in Motion, a patriotic light show on The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. The show features custom LED displays inspired by the 250th anniversary of the United States and will run during the evening throughout the holiday weekend.

Guests can also enjoy Spirit of America fountain shows at the Island Show Fountain, featuring choreographed water, lights, and patriotic music throughout the day. Families can stop by the Kids' Craft Tent for free patriotic crafts, take photos at the USA 250 commemorative photo backdrop, and browse limited-edition anniversary merchandise available at select shops.

Live music will take place nightly beginning at 8 p.m. on the Ole Smoky stage. Between scheduled entertainment, visitors can explore The Island's restaurants, specialty shops, attractions, and rides, making it easy to spend a full day celebrating the holiday.
