Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass

May 20 - May 21

Sevierville, TN

Event Details

Live music. Delicious food. Awesome fun.

Whether you’re enjoying toe-tapping tunes, devouring the nation’s best BBQ or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of one of the southeast’s top festivals, Bloomin’ BBQ is a weekend of fun for the whole family.

Each year, Sevierville’s Bloomin’ BBQ Festival plays host to the biggest and brightest bluegrass stars. Stay tuned for the entertainment lineup.

Sevierville’s 18th Annual Bloomin’ BBQ Music & Food Festival has announced the artists scheduled to perform on the Swaggerty’s Farm Main Stage. Sevierville’s signature spring event, Bloomin’ BBQ Music & Food Festival features a wide variety of entertainment, nationally recognized BBQ cook teams, kids’ games, a vocal competition honoring the songwriting of Dolly Parton, and a late- night Bluegrass Jam. The event takes place May 20 & 21, 2022, in historic downtown Sevierville, Tennessee.

Dan Tyminski will headline the festival on Friday, May 20, 2022, beginning at 8pm. During his 30+ year career he has been honored with 14 Grammy Awards and named Male Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) four times. Tyminski’s voice also famously accompanies George Clooney’s performance of the Stanley Brother’s Class song, “I’m a Man of Constant Sorrow,” in the film, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou. He also collaborated with Swedish DJ Avicii on the song “Hey Brother,” which has been streamed well over one billion times.

The iconic and profoundly influential jam band Leftover Salmon will headline Saturday night’s show on May 21, 2022, beginning at 8:30pm. Leftover Salmon has a 30-year legacy as a forward-thinking, progressive bluegrass band and is often cited as a crucial link in keeping the traditional music of the past alive while simultaneously pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly unique style.

Friday’s musical entertainment begins at 5pm with a live performance from Kat Wright, whose soulful sounds accentuate her melodic Americana rock. At 6pm, Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier take the stage for a hard-driving bluegrass set. Reigning IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year and New Artist of the Year, Appalachian Road Show, take the stage at 7pm before Friday night’s headliner, Dan Tyminski.

Saturday’s main stage lineup begins at noon with East Tennessee State University’s Old Time Ramblers. The school’s well-respected music program is the oldest established program of its kind at any four-year institution and has a mission of educating students on country and bluegrass music. The Family Sowell brings new and traditional bluegrass music to the stage at 1pm. Then bluegrass chart-topping band Sideline takes the stage for the first of two sets (at 2pm and 5pm). The Jacob Jolliff Band, helmed by former Yonder Mountain String Band mandolinist Jacob Jolliff, plays at 3pm and 6pm. Arlo McKinley, whose debut album Die Midwestern released on John Prine’s label Oh Boy Records, performs at 4pm and 7pm. Leftover Salmon closes out the festival with a 90-minute set beginning at 8:30pm.

“We are excited to bring Bloomin’ BBQ back to downtown Sevierville,” says Sevierville Chamber of Commerce director of marketing and communications Amanda Marr. “Each year our goal is to provide a showcase of quality bluegrass and Americana music in the heart of Sevierville, and we feel that this year’s lineup will be one of the best ever.”
