Event Details

Sevier County is celebrating one of its most famous hometown icons with the first-ever Dolly Parton Day on September 25, 2026!

Dolly Parton Day Proclamation Ceremony

The celebration begins with a special proclamation signing ceremony at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 25, on the steps of the historic courthouse in downtown Sevierville.

Leaders from Sevier County and the participating cities will gather to officially sign the joint proclamation recognizing Dolly’s life, legacy, generosity, and lifelong connection to the Smoky Mountains.

Residents and visitors are invited to join the community in commemorating the first Dolly Parton Day.

Celebrating Dolly's Smoky Mountain Roots

Born and raised in Sevier County, Dolly has carried her Smoky Mountain roots with her throughout a career spanning music, entertainment, business, and philanthropy. Her impact can be seen throughout the area, from her role in shaping Sevier County tourism to her work supporting children and families through the Dollywood Foundation, Imagination Library, My People Fund, pediatric healthcare initiatives, and more.

Beginning in 2026, Dolly Parton Day will be celebrated annually on September 25 throughout Sevier County, giving locals, businesses, schools, organizations, and visitors a chance to celebrate Dolly and the values she has represented throughout her life.
