The SkyTrail at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park will officially open on October 10. The SkyTrail connects both ends of the SkyBridge and is included in admission to the park.
In celebration, the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park will be hosting the Rucksack Circus for 2 days. The Rucksack Circus highline team will walk a line suspended 150 feet above the ground alongside the Gatlinburg SkyBridge. During the performance, a member of the team will be available to answer questions and even assist visitors in attempting line-walking on the SkyDeck.
What is highlining? Highlining is the act of walking on webbing generally made out of nylon or polyester, at great heights. This act differs from traditional tightrope walking, as the highline is rigged at much lower tension than a typical tightrope, giving a highline bounces, swings, and dynamic movement.
Performances are scheduled for select times throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday complete with an announcer to talk about just how tricky it is to balance your way across.
Saturday: 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm & 9pm
Sunday: 11am, 1pm, 3pm
