Horse Camps

If you own horses, take advantage of the park’s horse camps. There are five different horseback riding camps located throughout the Smoky Mountains at various locations: Anthony Creek, Big Creek, Cataloochee, Roundbottom, and Towstring. All horse camps require a reservation for use. For more information, stop by any park visitor center for a map or call (865) 436-0120.

If you wish to rent a horse, horseback riding by the hour is available at five different commercial stables located in the park from mid-March through late November. The average cost for horseback riding in the Smoky Mountains is about $30.00 per hour. Carriage rides and hayrides are also available at certain stables.
