The newest addition to The Escape Game at The Island in Pigeon Forge is an immersive adventure perfect for anyone who loves a good ol’ fashioned treasure hunt. We successfully escaped from Ruins: Forbidden Treasure and had a blast in the process. If you love to solve a good mystery, you’ll have a great time playing this brand new escape room.

My personal favorite thing to do at The Island, The Escape Game Pigeon Forge is a great activity for any type of group. Whether your traveling with your family or celebrating a bachelorette party with an adventurous group, you’re bound to have a blast playing any of the five escape rooms at this team building attraction.

Ruins: Forbidden Treasure
Their newest escape room is rated a 6 out of 10 on the difficulty scale (one of the easier options just before Gold Rush) and features a classic lost-in-the-jungle treasure hunt amongst some legendary ancient ruins of the Ehlari, a fabled lost civilization. Think Tomb Raider meets Indiana Jones. If you’re lucky, you’ll find your way to the mysterious treasure room.
Ruins: Forbidden TreasureYour journey begins aboard the wreckage of an old propeller plane after an unexpected “landing” amidst your aerial tour of the jungle. Luckily, your group is unharmed and unfazed!
Your pilot and tour guide extraordinaire, the unflappable Captain Mac, has ejected to safety and calls in to shed light on your predicament. You’ve miraculously stumbled upon the legendary Ehlari Ruins – home to a mythical treasure (and no doubt an abundance of obstacles).
Will you be the party to finally find and claim the fabled riches?
Solving The Puzzle
If you’ve ever experienced an escape room at The Escape Game, you’ll know that every bit of the immersive scenery is part of the puzzle. There are no red herrings, and you’ll typically use every clue only once. The small details that make the space so immersive are very deliberate. It takes cleverness and teamwork to make your way through each space, but as long as you’re paying attention to what’s around you, you’re bound to do a good job.
Tips For This Escape Room
Pay attention to the sounds! One of the things that makes The Escape Game experience so immersive is this kind of attention to detail. If you feel like an object goes in a particular place, give it a try; you will likely get some feedback from the environment itself. Don’t be afraid to check any conspicuous hidey holes or tug on any very tuggable-looking ropes. You’ll know what’s relevant once you start trying things!
Making Our Escape
We actually set a new personal record for any of the escape rooms we’ve completed here at The Escape Game! We finished Ruins: Forbidden Treasure with twenty minutes remaining on the clock. Because this is on the easier scale, this is a great escape room for a first timer. If you consider yourself a pro (like us!), be sure to try out another one of my personal favorites, Prison Break. It’s the most difficult one at this location, and you’ll feel so satisfied to finish it before your time runs out.
