Coaster with mountain views? Loaded hot dog and cold beer? Live music and activities for the whole family? Sign me up. Our Pigeon Forge team recently visited Ober Mountain to try out all of their rides to give you the full scoop.
Wristband & Aerial Tramway
We got the $49 All-Day Adventure Pass to use on over a dozen activities, so we decided to see just how much value we could get. After parking in downtown Gatlinburg, we took Ober's Aerial Tramway up to Ober's base. Definitely try to snag a window spot for the best views on this 20-minute ride.Ober Mountain

Activities Included with Ober's All-Day Adventure Pass Wristband: Aerial Tramway, Mountain Coaster, Wildlife Habitat, Ice Skating, Alpine Slide, Bike Area Ticket (bike and gear rentals not included), Scenic Chairlift, Rock Wall, Ice Bumper Cars, Chair Swings, Jump Pillow (for children 48" and under), Carousel, and the Snow Zone in winter months
The Mountain Coaster
We landed at the top and went straight to their iconic mountain coaster, the Tennessee Flyer - the highest one in the state. There was almost no line when we went in the morning. The 8-minute ride has you sailing through a series of turns fit for any adrenaline junkie. As you go down, the Smoky Mountains are spread out before you. One of the biggest perks of the All-Day Adventure Pass is the unlimited number of rides for each activity. With the bracelet, you and the kids can ride up and down as many times as you like!
Outdoor Activities for All
After a few coaster rides, we headed over to check out the other activities. Between the Rock Wall, new Jump Pillow, and Chair Swings, there are so many ways for kids to run out all their energy. We also headed over to the Alpine Slide for a thrilling wind through the trees. Additionally, Ober has recently installed a giant screen on an outdoor patio with lots of chairs and picnic tables to enjoy a game this fall.
Lunch & the Scenic Chairlift
There were several lunch and snack options both inside and outside the main Ober center. We had phenomenal loaded hot dogs and Yee Haw Brewing craft beer sitting outside on the spacious patio. After eating, we hopped on the scenic chairlift for a peaceful ride to the top of the mountain for views out across the Smokies, including famous Mount LeConte. We listened to live bluegrass music at the top from the Mountain Grass band. This point also has one of the only colorblind tower viewers in the whole state!
Once we landed back at the base camp, we explored inside the Ober center. We tried our hand at ice skating and the ice bumper cars (successfully and unsuccessfully, depending on who you ask). The bumper cars would be perfect for some fun family competition. You can hop on the carousel to snap some pictures before visiting the Wildlife Habitat.
We walked down a scenic trail to visit the black bears, birds, and river otters. We even watched the otter feeding and stayed a while to watch them splash around with each other. The wildlife habitat makes an excellent summer activity. At the end of the day, we grabbed some snacks and headed back down the Ober tram to for our ride home.Summer At Ober
Overall, the All-Day Adventure Pass gets you entrance to unlimited rides on all of the activities, incredible views, and a family day where everyone can have a fun experience on the mountain. Ober Mountain is the only adventure park in the area with an All-Day Adventure Pass. If you plan to utilize most of the activities for a day trip, the pass is definitely the best bang for your buck.
