At Rocky Top Sports World there are plenty of opportunities to improve your sporting skills, play a lively game and challenge yourself. You’ll find six state of the art synthetic fields of turf, one natural surface playing field, six fields that are fully lit at night and a championship stadium sized field. There are also six basketball courts with four more on site and twelve volleyball courts with five more on site.
The championship field offers a press box and stadium seating for 1,500, so event organizers and governing bodies will find everything necessary to host a range of events from football to band, ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, or much more.
There are also high quality facilities for court sports, such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, martial arts and wrestling. Also, on site you will find the Anna Porter Public Library and the Gatlinburg Community Center.

Rocky Top Sports World Nomenclature
The large sports campus in Gatlinburg is named after Rocky Top, a legendary mountain in East Tennessee. It is one of the most famous mountains in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and it offers fantastic hiking opportunities for visitors. Hikers tackling the peak of Rocky Top begin their arduous trek at the Cades Cove scenic picnic area, where they will travel three and a half miles to the beautiful Bote Mountain Trail.
It’s easy to see why Rocky Top was chosen as the namesake for the sports complex in Gatlinburg – it is situated within close proximity to the mountain. Also, there are some parallels to be drawn between the demanding trek up Rocky Top Mountain and the sports events that take place at Rocky Top Sports World. Both involve pushing yourself to the limit in order to achieve a lofty goal.
Although the physical feat is challenging, the participants must keep moving until they reach the peak.
