The Ridge campground provides an elevated RV camping experience. Truth be told, I am not the outdoorsey-ist. I love doing all the outside things - hiking, biking, swimming - but at night I want a hot shower and to rest my head in a cozy bed. So when I decided to surprise my daughters with a weekend of camping, they were shocked to say the least. We needed an adventure before the rigors of the school routine resumed. We needed to try something new and challenging. We needed to take up some new space in our world.
The Ridge Campground
I rented an RV and loaded up the essentials and then some and hit the road. I booked 2 nights at The Ridge Outdoor Resort in Sevierville. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by how beautiful the property was. I pulled into my site and was astounded at how wide and spacious the site was. It was on a level concrete pad with a large fire bowl and picnic table and the sites were well spaced out.
The RidgeBeing new to the RV scene, I was apprehensive about the hookups. But everything was so easy! Not only are all sites full hook up, they offer free internet and cable. I didn’t tell my kids about the cable. That was my ace card if things went south with the weather. I really wanted them to bike, swim and just explore. That they did. My daughters grabbed their bikes, and some snacks, and set off to get the lay of the land while I set some things up. While I figured out the difference between gray water and black water, they met the kid’s activity director and learned that there was a dance party, s’mores in the fire pits and the showing of the movie Cars in the pool after the sun went down. My night’s plans were made.

The Ridge Campground Amenities
I woke up early the next morning to enjoy some quiet time before the day started. Other guests began to wake up and the smell of bacon and coffee wafted through the campground, and the smell of my burning monkey bread. That was a hard Pinterest fail for me. I am a pro in the kitchen, but cooking over an open fire is not in my wheelhouse. After a delicious breakfast of bacon and turkey sandwiches, we set out to explore The Ridge.
Everyone at The Ridge campground is just so friendly and helpful. We rode down to the main building where we checked in. This is where all the action is. If you need anything, the Ridge staff is there to assist.

Camping Store
The camping store offers some essentials you might have left behind but also great souvenirs of your trip. Misplace your beer? They got you.

Fitness Center
There is no excuse to miss your workout while camping. The state of the art fitness room has cardio equipment, free weights and machines.

Play Room
The kids play room has ping pong, games and space to play.

Pool Area
My girls loved the pool. It is zero entry meaning that there is a gradual slope into the pool so even the littles can splash and play.

WiFi Lounge
If you have to check in with work and need a little quiet space, there is a wifi lounge upstairs in the main building. Check out the deck overlooking the mountains!

Around The Ridge Campground
We took a bike ride and explored the other areas of the RV Resort. I thought my RV site was awesome until I rode up on a waterfront signature site. I have never seen anything like these! The luxury RV sites feature all of the amenities of the premiere sites but also have an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, outdoor television, grill and individual hot tub all overlooking the water. Yes, please! This is what glamping is all about.
Glamping At The RidgeOther spotted resort features include: a playground, covered gaga pit, basketball court, pickle ball court, fenced in dog park, stocked catch & release fishing pond, full laundry facility, and bathhouse conveniently located next to the pool.

Great Family Getaway
My girls are begging to go back and stay in one of the luxury canvas tents or mini home glamping cabins that are on the property. I would definitely be up for that. While I don’t have an extensive camping background, I do know a good time when I see it. The Ridge was an elevated camping experience with amazing amenities and just the perfect getaway for my little family.
